Diffusing, Chimeras’ World

One of the project of Chimeras’ World. Chimeras’ World keeps discussing the ways in which human beings perceive and receive information as well as move and live between the real and virtual worlds in the digital age. Chimeras’ World attempts to create a theatrical space for physical wandering through the interactive spatial installation that connects the “real absent field” with the “virtual” one. In the process of interaction, the viewers will perceive and immerse themselves in the virtual space as well as investigate the technologically developed systems from the visual representation of and transition among data, space, time, and images. Ultimately, the digital coding in Chimeras’ World becomes a reconstructed state of existence and way of perceiving the world.
Words signs are hanged on the walls of the
world constituted by lines and frames. When the
audience reads the words signs with an iPad, the
images of objects signified by the signs will appear
on the screen and overlap with each other. The
audience can load the Chimeras into the objects
by shaking the iPad; and then, between the visible
and the invisible, observes the world in which the
Chimeras exist and the messages they attempt to
convey.
